Artists - your teacher needs you!

Cambridge Evening News
March 2005

Calling all former art students at Hills Road Sixth Form College - your teacher needs you. Ted Coney, head of art and design, will retire in July after 34 years at the Cambridge college.

To mark the event, he will hold an exhibition including his own works but he also wants it to feature work by colleagues past and present, artists-in-residence, and former students.

He is appealing through the News for as many former students as possible to contact him, even if they choose not to exhibit their work.

"It would be great if ex-students could get in touch," he said.

The celebration of more than 30 years of art will also benefit charity - 30 per cent of all sales made will go the Tsunami Appeal.

Mr Coney will also hold a repeat of his valedictory lecture, On The Edge, which sold out when he first delivered it last October.

It will be held at the college's Robinson Theatre tomorrow at 8pm. Tickets cost £5, from the college bursary, and all profits go to the Tsunami Appeal.

More details are available from the college on (01223) 247251.
