A group of forty Original Oil paintings produced by artist Ted Coney on the theme of family life and family relationships.
'I never run out of ideas', says Ted Coney, 'because families are endlessly fascinating.'
The collection starts with a painting about his grandmother and her four sisters, produced in 1969. He is now working on a new painting about his grandmother and her four sisters to mark 50 years since he began making paintings about his family. This time, the work is about how we can sometimes hang onto our memories through significant objects.
Most of the paintings are oil on canvas, though there are some examples of painting on glass, wood and Ivorene.
The history of family and symbolism in paintings play a key role in this original collection.
